How to link Google Analytics with Google Search Console?

Link Google Analytics with Google Search Console so that you will have more data in Google Analytics and you can filter this data more easily. Linking Search Console can only be done with Google Analytics Universal and not with Google Analytics 4 at this moment (April 2021).

Phase 1 – Link Google Analytics with Google Search Console:

  1. Login to Google Analytics
  2. Go to Admin > Select account > Select the property you would like to connect
  3. Go to All products
  4. Scroll all the way down, until you see Search Console, click on the button.
  5. Click on the tiny link named ‘Add’

Phase 2 – Link Google Analytics with Google Search Console:

  1. A new window will open (from Search Console)
  2. Select the property you want to link to
  3. Associate with the property you want to link to
  4. Click on the button associate
  5. Google Analytics and Search Console are now linked

The Google Search Console data will now be added to Google Analytics! This makes it easier to get certain information you can’t get with either of the data sets alone.

Conclusion

It makes takes some time before the data between Google Analytics and Google Search Console is synchronized. Use the data to find problems, gain new insights, and make decisions based on this knowledge. If you would like to get more data, have a look at Scroll Depth Tracking or Filtering Your IP from GA4.
